The North Allegheny School Board has hired Mr. Christopher Shute to the position of Principal at McKnight Elementary School at an annual salary of $93,000.

The effective date of this appointment is February 18, 2013, pending his release from the Peters Township School District. 

The current McKnight Elementary principal, Stephen Parks Jr., is retiring in March.

Mr. Shute received his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Duquesne University, where he was a Summa Cum Laude graduate; he received his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Old Dominion University. 

Most recently, Mr. Shute served as Assistant Principal at Bower Hill Elementary in the Peters Township School District and as interim Special Education Director. Mr. Shute previously served as Assistant Principal at the Sunrise School with Allegheny Intermediate Unit #3.
