Ash Wednesday Services Set in North Allegheny Communities

Churches in or near your neighborhood plan services, fellowship gatherings for Wednesday to mark the start of Lent.

For those commemorating Ash Wednesday, North Allegheny Patch has compiled a list of churches located in or near North Allegheny communities that are observing the day with services or other events:


  • Ascension Lutheran Church, 8225 Peebles Road: Services at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The 7 p.m. service will be preceded by a soup and salad bar dinner beginning at 5 p.m.
  • Heritage Presbyterian Church, 2262 Rochester Road: Service at 7:30 p.m.
  • Ingomar United Methodist Church, 1501 W. Ingomar Road: Service at 7 p.m.
  • Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway: Dinner at 6:30 pm., followed by a service at 7:30 p.m.
  • North Park Church, 600 Ingomar Road, Wexford: Service at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. Childcare is available.
  • Orchard Hill Church, 2551 Brandt School Road, Wexford: Lenten communicion service at 7 p.m. Childcare is available.
  • St. Alexis Catholic Church, 10090 Old Perry Highway, Wexford: Mass with distribution of ashes at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Ashes and Liturgy of the Word, noon. No fish fry is scheduled.
  • St. John Lutheran Church of Highland, 311 Cumberland Road: Service at noon.
  • St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2230 Rochester Road: Mass with distribution of ashes at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Service with distribution of ashes at 4:30 p.m. 
  • Sts. John & Paul, Catholic Church, 2586 Wexford Bayne Road: Mass with distribution of ashes at 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Ashes and Liturgy of the Word at 4:30 p.m. Mass with distribution of ashes at 7 p.m. 
  • 4836 Wexford Run Road, Bradford Woods: Services at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Ash Wednesday and each Wednesday through Lent.
