Traffic Alert: More Duncan Avenue Restrictions Begin This Week

As work continues on on the stretch of Duncan Avenue between Babcock Boulevard and Ferguson and Thompson Run Roads in McCandless, PennDOT has announced new restrictions that begin Monday, June 3.

Traffic will be restricted to a single alternating lane between Babcock Boulevard and Thompson Run Road on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Current overnight restrictions from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. will continue through August, said a PennDOT statement.

Flag crews will assist traffic moving through the work areas. Stop conditions should be expected. Additionally, police will be posted to control traffic at the Peebles Road, Babcock Boulevard and Thompsons Run Road intersections.

The project is included in a $2.5 million contract with The Lane Construction  Company of Pittsburgh for improvements on several roadways in Allegheny County.

Work includes milling and resurfacing the roadway and shoulders, base repairs, drainage and guiderail upgrades, pavement markings and other minor improvements.
