Jackie Evancho attended Monday's NYC premiere of The Company You Keep in which the Pine-Richland phenom plays Robert Redford's daughter. (see attached movie trailer).
Redford directed the political thriller based on Neil Gordon's novel of the same name and spoke to Extra about casting Jackie for the part of Isabel, her acting debut.
“I needed a kid that could just be… I’m sitting in the hotel room and I’m surfing TV, boom there comes this beautiful, angelic face on a show called 'America’s Got Talent,' I thought, maybe she could act. It was a risk. She showed up two days later… it goes to show you risks are worth taking; she turned out to be the most real, human kid.”
Redford also stars in the film as Jim Grant, a Vietnam-era fugitive wanted on murder charges for a robbery that went wrong in 1974. When young newspaper reporter (Shia LaBeouf) starts pursuing the story, Grant goes on the run with his daughter, Isabel, in tow.
The film also stars Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Brendan Gleeson, Terrence Howard, Richard Jenkins, Anna Kendrick, Brit Marling, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper and Susan Sarandon.
There was plenty of excitement Monday night. Jackie tweeted a photo of herself with fellow castmates, adding "Thank you Robert Redford!!"
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reality star Yolanda Foster also tweeted: "At the premiere of "The company you keep" starring Robert Redford and our angel."
The movie opens in theaters Friday. Do you plan to see the film? Tell us in the comments section below.
