Dick's Sporting Goods Coming to McCandless Crossing

The sporting goods chain will seek approval from the McCandless Planning Commission in July.

Dick's Sporting Goods is planning to build in McCandless Crossing.

"Their application is relatively new," said Bruce Betty, Town of McCandless Land Use Administrator. "They are proposing to build beside the proposed Homegoods." (see attached map)

The closest Dick's Sporting Goods to McCandless is the store at the Shoppes at Northway in Ross.

It's not clear what would happen to the Ross location once a store in McCandless Crossing is open. A representative of Dick's has been unavailable for comment.

When Dick's opened its new location in Cranberry, it decided to renovate the vacated space into a new sporting goods concept store called Field & Stream.

The new store’s target audience is outdoor lovers. The store will provide an expanded selection of hunting, fishing, hiking and camping equipment from what is currently available at the standard Dick’s Sporting Goods stores.

Other McCandless Crossing Updates

The McCandless planning commission will also consider proposals from Carrabba's and Bonefish Grill at its July meeting.

A total of six restaurants have committed to McCandless Crossing, including  Panera Bread Chipotle First Watch, and Longhorn Steakhouse.

And although their name is listed on the developer's map, Betty said there is still no definitive word on whether Trader Joe's plans to move in McCandless Crossing.
