Updated Forecast: Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain Expected in North Allegheny Area

The National Weather Service is predicting 1-3 inches of snow.

Just when you thought all the snow had melted, along comes another winter weather advisory.

The National Weather Service said the advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday for Allegheny, Butler, Beaver and surrounding areas.

  • Overnight: Snow before 4am, then freezing rain and sleet. Low around 29. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Wednesday: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet likely before 11am, then a chance of sleet between 11am and 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
