Primary 2013: What Do You Know About the Candidates?

North Allegheny Patch has the rundown on all of the races in McCandless, Marshall Township, Franklin Park, and Bradford Woods.

Primary election day is Tuesday, May 21. The general election is Tuesday, Nov 5.

North Allegheny School Board

Four candidates are challenging three incumbents for four seats on the North Allegheny School Board. All of the candidates are cross-filed, which means they are running for the nomination of both the Republican and Democratic parties.

Incumbents Ralph J. Pagone, Thomas C. Schwartzmier, and Daniel E. Hubert are running for re-election.

Both incumbents Linda Bishop, whose term expires in December, and , are not running.

Also running are Ash Marwah, Tara Fisher, Gary Wenig, and Scott Russell.

Town of McCandless

Council
Ward 2
Incumbent Republican Gerald Aufman Jr. is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election.

Ward 4
Incumbent Republican Robert Powers is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election.

Ward 6
Incumbent Republican Ralph J. LeDonne is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election. 

Bradford Woods

Mayor
Republican Mayor Robert Murray is unopposed in the spring primary and general election.

Council
Six Republicans are seeking four seats. They are incumbents Patricia Mirth, Roy Weigan, and David Baldonieri. Incumbent Don Lammers' term expires, but he is not seeking re-election. Republican challengers are Barbara Heintz, Charles Coltharp, and Victoria Laird-Pongrace.

Alisha Hipwell is seeking the Democratic nomination and is unopposed.

Franklin Park

Mayor
Republican Dennis O'Keefe is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election.

Tax Collector 
Republican Linda Avolio is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election.

Council
Ward 1
Incumbent David Quatchak is not seeking re-election. Republican Linda Avolio, the current tax collector, is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election.

Ward 2
Incumbent Repubican Jane Ann Hopey is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election. 

Ward 3
Incumbent Republican Amy Sable is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election.  

Marshall Township

Tax Collector
Republican Charles Carey is unopposed in both the spring primary and general election.

Supervisor (2 seats)
Republicans Anthony Candek and Philip Troy are unopposed in the spring primary and general election.
