McCandless Community Day

Saturday Sept. 14, 12:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. McCandless Town Hall. Parade, food, performances, games, rides, and fireworks. Read more here.

Allegheny Valley Marching Band Festival

Saturday, Sept. 14 7 p.m. Martorelli Stadium. The 53rd annual North Hills Marching Band Festival will be held in conjunction with the Allegheny Valley Marching Band Festival for the first time as a special combination event this year. At least 10 local high school marching bands are scheduled to perform. Read more here.

Footsteps for Recovery 5k Run/Walk

Saturday, Sept. 14, 7:30 a.m., Harmar Grove, North Park. Enjoy prizes, DJ, Chinese auction and food. The race is timed by Miles of Smiles and benefits PENED, the Pennsylvania Educational Network for Eating Disorders. The non-profit provides educational and supportive on the causes, treatment and prevention of eating disorders and related issues. More info here. 

Seville Ladies Auxiliary Vendors Day Event

Saturday, Sept. 14, 10 a.m. Seville VFC Banquet Hall, 124 Enger Ave (next to Seville Elementary School) Come and take advantage of multiple vendors displaying and selling their products all in one place. Check out Tastefully Simple, 31, Tupperware, Avon, Gold Canyon Candles, jewelry, and many more. Start your gift shopping early!  Food and drinks also available.

The Holidays Oldies Concert

Saturday, Sept. 14, 8:30 p.m. Mars Area High School Auditorium. Come enjoy an evening of toe tappin', finger snappin', hand clappin' music as The Holidays perform hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s to benefit Glade Run Lake restoration in southern Butler County.  Advance tickets $20, $25 at the door. BOGO! Guided Kayak Tour on North Park Lake - Hosted by L.L.Bean

Sunday, Sept. 15 10 a.m.
Exploring nature in a kayak can be a fun and easy way to enjoy the outdoors. After brief introductions and a safety talk, you'll be outfitted in a personal flotation device (PFD) and receive paddling instruction. You'll then set out in a solo, recreational kayak to enjoy a guided, one and a half hour interpretive tour, learning about the ecosystem and history of the area.
