Parade, Entertainment, Food & Fireworks Highlight McCandless Community Day

5 things you need to know about the 13th annual Town of McCandless Community Day

The 13th annual McCandless Community Day will kick off Saturday, Sept. 14 with a parade beginning at Rave Cinemas at 12:30 p.m. The parade route ends at McCandless Town Hall, located at 9955 Grubbs Road, which will host the remainder of the day's many activities.

"We always look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones," said McCandless Town Manager Toby Cordek. "Community Day leaves us with warm thoughts and lasting memories. We hope to see you there!"
Below are some of the highlights from this year's program:

1. 10 different performances are scheduled, including Center Stage, Red Hot Ramblers, Joe the Juggler, and the Allegheny Brass Band.
2.  A free shuttle service will run from the Trader Horn parking lot to Town Hall and will be available from noon until 9:45 p.m.
3.  A silent auction including retired traffic signals and 50/50 raffle will return this year as well as the Junior Firefighter Combat Challenge hosted by the Fire Marshal and volunteer fire companies.
4. Over 10 food vendors will be selling fresh, hot food and over 40 exhibitors will be in attendance.
5. The day will conclude with a fireworks display.
